
LKBP joins in Koop Family Day

LKBP joined the City of Malolos Koop Family Day, an event organized by the City Government of Malolos in collaboration with CTECO and CMCDC. This gathering took place at the Barangay Covered Court in Brgy. Mojon, City of Malolos, Bulacan. CTECO and CMCDC arranged 11 parlor games and an impromptu Zumba Dance Contest for the cooperatives to participate in. These activities were crafted to promote unity among the cooperatives, uniting them as a small-brother and big-brother. Despite their differences, the various cooperatives came together to play and enjoy the day as one. Certainly, the event truly highlights its theme, which is “Nagkakaisang Kooperatiba. Tungo sa pag-unlad ng Ekonomiya” After the games, a raffle was held for the attendees, and the event concluded with a heartfelt closing thank-you speech.

LKBP holds 1st Virtual General Assembly

Ligas Kooperatiba ng Bayan sa Pagpapaunlad (LKBP), one of the Billionaire Cooperatives in the Province of Bulacan, openly embraced the changes in digital transformation brought by the Covid-19 pandemic as they conducted their first Virtual General Assembly. With the theme, “Moving forward on Sustainable Future touching both Economic and Social Piece,” LKBP held its 35th Annual General Assembly sequentially via videoconference from June 1, 2021 to July 30, 2021. LKBP presented reports from the Board of Directors down to its Management and Committees showing the status of the Cooperative from 2019 to 2020. Despite the pandemic, LKBP continues in providing services to all its members nationwide and worldwide. Also, part of the assembly was the launching of the KAYA (Kooperatibang may Asenso, Yaman at Abilidad), a payment platform developed for Cooperatives by the National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO), Philippine Federation of Credit Cooperative (PFCCO), and the Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU). Total attendees of 2,938 participated in the Virtual General Assembly and around ₱800,000 cash prizes were given away to all lucky winners during the raffle. ¬LKBP members who attended the videoconference and won the raffle received their cash allowance and prizes through their Kaya Savings account.

Pandemic can never be a barrier. In LKBP, we pursue our dreams and make it happen. Another milestone for Ligas Kooperatiba ng Bayan sa Pagpapaunlad (LKBP) as they announced the opening of their owned Cabalen Restaurant at Vista Mall Malolos on December 17, 2020. LKBP, as franchisee of Cabalen Restaurant make it possible for Cooperative to engage in business. The blessing was officiated by Rev. Fr. Arnold Bungay of Holy Spirit Parish of Alido Heights, Malolos with ribbon cutting ceremony led by LKBP Chairperson Lucila J. Punongbayan, CEO Julita D. Nazar, CDA Region 3 Director, Marieta P. Hwang , and Malolos City Mayor representative, Atty. Loribelle Tagulao-Castro. LKBP CEO, Ms. Julita D. Nazar together with the Board of Directors and Management staff was very excited for the opening of the restaurant. “I just want to thank everybody who are here for gracing this Grand Opening. I am very thankful for the support you gave to us and finally, our very own Cabalen Restaurant is now ready to serve you. We are happy that despite of the pandemic, we are able to help our government by providing job opportunities to our people here in Bulacan”, she cited during the Grand Opening ceremony. CDA Region-3 Regional Director, Ms. Marieta P. Hwang who is one of the Guest of Honor during the ceremony also shared her excitement and congratulation to LKBP for achieving another breakthrough in entering into franchise of buffet restaurant and encourage everyone to share this good news to promote Cabalen as well as the Cooperative. Also, in behalf of City Mayor of Malolos, Hon. Gilbert T. Gatchalian, his Chief-of-staff, Atty. Loribelle Tagulao-Castro graced the event as she delivered Mayor Gatchalian’s congratulatory and inspirational message to LKBP. Important guests present during the ceremony came from Cabalen Business Development and Franchising Corporation, Vista Mall, City of Malolos, Cooperative Development Authority, Bulacan Federation of Cooperatives, City Training Employment and Cooperative, Landbank of the Philippines, Social Security System, Barangay Council of Longos, Malolos and other partners. Ms. Lanie Babista of BUFECO, Mr. Paulino Tiongson, Jr. of Landbank Malolos, Longos Brgy. Captain Mr. Roberto Ganelo was also present during the ribbon cutting ceremony. Mr. Dean K. Dayao, Director of Cabalen BDFC led by Cabalen group represented by managers, Ms. Lorena S. Salvador, Ms. Julie S. Volante, Ms. Mafien Atacador and Ms. Mary Ann Villamater; and Chefs Ms. Siony Agila and Mr. Tuti Muncal. Cabalen Restaurant is now open to serve fine dining and buffet style, located at at 2nd Level, Vista Mall Malolos, Brgy. Longos, City of Malolos, Bulacan, serving delectable and authentic Filipino dishes that will surely satisfy your appetite.

Virtual Livelihood Training –“Bitso Making

Due to the pandemic, millions of Filipinos have lost their jobs. Therefore, they lost their source of income for their day-to-day living. Also, the effect of coronavirus caused depression and fear to everyone. So, Ligas Kooperatiba ng Bayan sa Pagpapaunlad through Ligas KBP Foundation, Inc., conducted a livelihood training called "Bitso Making" to help them gain income and divert their attention to more positive things. The said activity was conducted via Facebook live and has gained 6,211 views.
